This fellow is trying to use the "Chinese pull" and posted in Pendlay's forum. So I figured I might chime in and see what I can help him with. Perhaps others share the same worries.

1. The first pull, must not be explosive. The second pull/"punch" does. If you've already exploded once from the floor, how do you explode the second time?

With less power, where it matters most.

So go slow, in the first pull, and just keep it calm and centered, ready for the explosive second pull.

2. In the second pull.....to call it completely straight, the bar doesn't go up completely straight.

We like to call it a "Banana curve" meaning that the pull, somewhat mimics a banana curve. Let it curve a tiny bit.

3. Do NOT rush. Attempting to lift fast, without proper movement ingrained causes problems at heavier weights.

At 60,70,80%, you'll have all sorts of different feelings in your movement. Calm down. If one can't lift a 40KG bar slowly, then lift a 20KG bar slowly. 15KG bar slowly.

Weightlifting, isn't hard. It's quite fluid really.
